Obviously the closer to 10 competitive pages you get for a search term, the more likely it is your page is to stumble in to the top 10. These are true "orphan keywords." So called as a result of neglect by the competition.
Then do not forget to consider beyond your box. The same as your potential prospects do.
Say you'd a practice in California. One term you may consider is "criminal defense attorney." That gets 131 searches but people 1,450,000 competitive pages. I'm maybe not wild about those odds. Plus the expression is really not very focused.
Digging deeper I found that "criminal defense attorney LA" gets 85 daily searches. And just has 11,1100 pages to beat out. Not bad.
Looking deeper still "criminal defense lawyer manhattan project county" gets 84 daily searches. But just has 575 competitive pages. Paydirt!
I started with once again I resulted in a search term with complete searches at least in the exact same ball park because the generic term. Yet with merely a number of competing pages to deal with. Rarely do I fail to try this. In fact you will find lots of such treasures by thoroughly studying your keyword market.
Always remember that keyword marketing research could BE THE element that determines the success or failure of your market site. Using recommendations like these will help you do wiser optimised keyword advertising. Which in turn will allow you to attract more traffic from search-engines more easily. And traffic is some thing we could all use more of, right?
